Dictionary: Constant
A constant is a number that does not change — as opposed to a variable.
f(x) = 2x + 7
In the function above, 7 is a constant. It is always 7, regardless of what x is. π and e are also well-known mathematical constants.
π ≈ 3.14159 · e ≈ 2.71828
God made the integers; all else is the work of man.
— Leopold Kronecker (1823–1891)
