Dictionary: Vector
A vector is a quantity with both magnitude and direction — unlike a scalar which has magnitude only.
⃗v = (x, y) · |⃗v| = √(x² + y²)
Vectors are used in physics (force, velocity), navigation and 3D graphics. Two vectors are equal if they have the same magnitude and direction.
Dot product = 0: The vectors are perpendicular to each other.
To those who do not know mathematics it is difficult to get across a real feeling as to the beauty of nature.
— Richard Feynman (1918–1988)
