Dictionary: Inequality
An inequality compares two expressions using <, >, ≤ or ≥ instead of an equals sign.
x > 3 · x ≤ 5 · 2 < x < 8
Inequalities are used to describe intervals and regions. When multiplying or dividing by a negative number, the inequality sign flips!
Important: -2x > 6 → x < -3 (sign flips!)
Mathematics is the language with which God has written the universe.
— Galileo Galilei (1564–1642)
